Her true love is Scottish history.
She has spent the last 25 years
helping
her grandfather, a retired historian,
sort, restore and rewrite the history
of
their family in Scotland and England.
That is where she came across the
basis for her novel "A Restless
Knight"
(Kensington, July 2006), set in the
year before the rising of William
Wallace. She had begun work on those
pages for the history of her family in
the late 1200s and thought it was a
perfect story to make a marvellous
novel. Her second novel-in-the-
works, "In Her Bed" August 2007,
Kensington, a series of books on the
saga of Scotland's war for
independence. Next - One Snowy
Knight (October 2008) and followed
by Yield to the Knight.
She also writes paranormal contemporary
romances, which will be put out by
Dorchester Publishing (2006). The
first two "The Invasion of Falgannon
Isle" (December 2006, Love Spell)
the second "Riding the Thunder"
(October 2007), the first two in a
series of seven books.

Here Comes The Bride
by Laura Drewry
"a delightful tale from first time writer"
Posted May 16, 2005
Here Comes the Bride is a delightful book from first time
writer Laura Drewry. In a time when other publishers are
crying the historical romance is dead, Zebra Books has
really ignored the naysayers and are putting out a wide
range of historical fiction. Such as Kate Rothwell's
wonderful books Read more...
Love Is All Around
by Lori Devoti
"Utterly Charming tale of Small Town Love"
Posted May 16, 2005
I love books with `regional humor' and this is one sweet
little gem. From first time writer Lori Devoti, a writer
with a lot of promise, I just adored this tale.
Patsy Lee Clark is watching her small hometown of Daisy
Creek go through what a lot of small towns Read more...
When Dashing Met Danger
by Shana Galen
"first time effort with style!"
Posted May 23, 2005
There is a lot of new writers out of late, and I am
enjoying the fresh voices! Shana Galen is another
demonstrating she is a writer to keep an eye on. In her
debut novel, Galen has strong tale, with threads of
delightful secondary characters promising more in a
series. Read more...
Unveiled
by Kristina Cook
"her second book proves she is here to stay"
Posted May 23, 2005
Kristina Cook had a very fine debut book with Unlaced, so
I
was eager to see her second novel. Some writers have that
great book in them, or they have a strong debut promising
the growth of a talented writer, but that second book
comes
along and they just don't Read more...
The Marriage List
by Dorothy McFalls
"a gentle romance from a writer with promise"
Posted May 23, 2005
An enchanting Regency for first time writer Dorothy
McFalls. I have seen a review slashing at this book, and
frankly, all reviewers/readers need to take a deep breath
and step back. All writers are first time writers. It's
not
an easy process, and if you cannot do it yourself, then Read more...
The Loch
by Steve Alten
"slander against Nessie...lol"
Posted July 4, 2005
In this case, more specifically Nessie is accused of
making
Elevenses out of the business associate of the father of
Marine Biologist Zach Wallace. Wallace is coming home
after
nearly drowning in the Sargasso Sea. He was on an
expedition in search of a giant squid. His return home is Read more...
Crazy For You
by Kate Angell
"One of the books for 2005"
Posted March 15, 2005
In Calder Rose, Kate Angell's bright and charming debut
book, we were treated to the hero's t-shirts with zany
slogans. With her newest novel, Crazy For You, readers are
enchanted with an even more laugh provoking device - the
hero's silk boxer shorts! Bree Emery is nearly speechless
when she's Read more...
The Prince Next Door
by Sue Civil-Brown
"quirky Civil-Brown tale is fun romp"
Posted May 28, 2005
Sue Civil-Brown has been on my `must read' list for a long
time - in both her names. Rachel Lee as done series
romance
and dark suspense that enthralls readers. But I actually
enjoy her Sue persona better. She always writes about
small
town quirky characters and the funny business Read more...
Dance of Desire
by Catherine Kean
"super debut Historical romance"
Posted May 28, 2005
If you love strong-willed, intelligent and determined
heroines, and heroes to match them, you will walk to check
out the debut novel of Catherine Kean. I had heard
Medallion wasn't going to do straight historical novels,
so
I am delighted to see they actually are. Kean's book is Read more...
Bad Boys Over Easy
by Erin McCarthy, Jen Nicholas, Jordan Summers
"Fun anthology"
Posted September 30, 2005
Three tales, three talented writers add up to great fun.
BRAVA is Kensington's current Romantica/Erotica line.
While
this book is great reading - I really enjoyed it - fans of
pure Brava style might find this a little light in the
erotica "heat". The writers are solid. I especially like Read more...
The Lady Doth Protest

Falcon's Honor
by Denise Lynn
"Lynn's second medieval tale is charming!"
Posted May 23, 2005
Denise Lynn is a new voice in the Harlequin Historical
line. Her first book Falcon's Desire (February 2003 was a
Reviewers International Award Winner in Short Historical
Romance - and impressive debut!), ensuring more "Falcon"

by Falcon's Desire (July 2005), so Read more...
Get Bunny Love
by Kathleen Long
"delightfully quirky debut from a fun writer"
Posted June 2, 2005
They say opposites attract. In Get Bunny Love, a Zebra
Debut Romance by Kathleen Long, it's more like run away
train crashing rather than a simple attraction. And Long's
hero and heroine cannot be more opposite. Get Bunny Love
is
not `bunny love' but the name of the heroine (I Read more...
Caught in the Act
by Pam McCutheon
"a charming romantic comedy"
Posted June 2, 2005
I utterly adore 1940s movies that center on quirky romance
between two people - generally who might have missed each
other if it weren't for chance - that tosses them into
bizarre but riotous situations. You always feel good at
the
end of one. The End flashes across the screen Read more...
Dangerous Curves
by Pamela Britton
"Checker Flag for Britton"
Posted August 5, 2005
Pamela Britton is mostly known for her Regency era
Historical Romances. So I was curious how she made the jump
into Contemporary Romance with a NASCAR theme. I must say
Britton is hitting her stride here, her voice more fluid as
a Contemporary writer. She's obviously done her racing
homework, Read more...
The Hinterlands

"A great new writer!"

What a ride! Karen Mercury loves history, all the tiny

Diamond Dreams
by Sandra Heath
"Another keeper from Heath"
Posted October 21, 2005
Sadly, several publishers are doing away with their Trad
Regency lines. In this big push for erotica, I fear they
are losing site of different strokes for different folks.
Janet Mullany, a new voice in Trads, shows she can hit the
mark, even heat up the formula some. Read more...
