In 1778 Northkill, New York, Warlock Alex Caldwell plans to kill his half-brother the High Witch Hugh McNamara. The dark Alex has always detested his magical opposite the light Hugh, but mostly does not want a rival for the ownership of the sacred Irish Ogham powers obtained only from a blessing from a daughter of Danu. Hugh dies believing his cherished fairy witch, a Danu daughter, Julia betrayed their love when Alex gained ownership of the ancient powers.

For the first time in over two centuries Julia Moss returns to McNamara's Tavern in Northkill. Her return awakens a slumbering but not dead Hugh, who seeks vengeance against the unfaithful Julia. Since the debacle that cost the life of her beloved, Julia avoids magic, but now senses Hugh's ghost. She obtains help from Alex's son Samuel, who is more the embodiment of Hugh in temperament. She prays that together they can bring her loved one fully back to her. However, Julia's presence has also woke up Alex, leading to a rematch between good vs. evil.

MCNAMARA'S GHOST is a refreshing enjoyable paranormal romance that focuses on the eternal battle of good vs. evil with love buttressing the side of the light. The story line is action packed from its eighteenth century opening scene until the final modern day confrontation. Though Alex and Hugh are written perhaps too extreme in nature especially in light of the villain having no redeeming qualities, the characters are fun to observe as the duel of magic shapes into its latest battle so that readers receive immense pleasure from this tale.
