REVIEW

"Great story. Great love scenes!"

Sammuel Lennox, the Viscount Ranelagh, becomes interested in finding out the identity of the woman who is the model for the nude paintings he has been buying. He tracks her down at the artist's studio and learns that she is Alexandra Ionides, thirty years old, twice widowed and with a reputation as an independent woman. There is something about this woman that draws Sam to her and he sets about seducing her her into becoming another woman on the long list of females he has charmed into his bed.

Alex turns Sam down when he propositions her. She is not averse to taking a lover once in a while, but she is not interested in becoming another notch on this rake's bedpost. She feels she has more important things to do with her time, and besides, she finds him too appealing and alluring, which could prove to be dangerous to her freedom and happiness. She doesn't realize that in refusing him she has peaked Sam's interest and created an obsession. He must have her!

I had a good time reading SEDUCTION IN MIND. I enjoyed the progression of the relationship between Sam and Alex. Through verbal banter and exchanges they came to understand each other better and the sexual tension was exciting. It was fun to watch two fiercly independent people struggle with their feelings of jealousy and try to appear uninvolved even though the animal attraction was too strong to resist. The loves scenes were extremely erotic. It was somewhat refreshing to see a heroine who was sexually liberated and a hero who could accept her that way. These were very likeable characters who deserved their happy ending. I enjoy the footnotes Ms. Johnson includes in her books. I know some readers find them distracting but I like the extra bit of background she provides in them. SEDUCTION IN MIND has joined the list of my favorite Susan Johnson reads.

One note of caution: Ms. Johnson uses some sexual terms in her books that some may find offensive. She seemed to have toned this down in SEDUCTION IN MIND but nevertheless some of these words are used. I don't mind reading these words, I have come to expect them as a part of her writing style and would probably miss them if they didn't appear.
