REVIEW

"A great way to get in the holiday spirit!"

Hitched for the Holidays by Jennifer Drew tells the story of Mindy Ryder. She's made quite a career out of organizing people's lives but now her father has retired and wants to organize her life. She tells him that she's seeing a doctor and he gets the idea that she's practically engaged. The problem is she's talking about her dog Peaches' veterinarian and she's not really seeing him, per se. Now she's in a panic because her father is coming for an extended visit. What is she going to do? She finally decides to take matters into her own hands and ask Dr. Eric Kincaid if he'll pretend to be her boyfriend during her father's visit. He agrees but asks Mindy to do a few favors for him as well since he has a meddling mother who wants to set him up. Now the problem is Mindy's father extends his visit longer and longer. How long can Eric and Mindy keep this pretend relationship up and what happens when it doesn't feel so pretend anymore?

A GROOM IN HER STOCKING by Barbara Dunlop starts out with Lindsey Parker getting the prestigious Gold Merit Certification, a very high honor. The problem is that Lindsey has her work but it doesn't keep her warm at night. She is going to spend her Christmas vacation with her mother in the Yukon territory where they used to live and go to a huge family reunion. The matriarch of the family, Camilla makes an announcement after everyone arrives that Lindsey will be marrying Robert. Bobby, the lounge lizard is thrilled but RJ, is the one who is attracted to Lindsey. So now what can they do about it? There's no way Lindsey wants to get married and most especially not to Bobby. It's up to RJ and Lindsey to figure out how to get out of this one.

I thoroughly enjoyed both of these holiday stories. They were both quick fun reads but that's what I always expect from a Duets book. I'm happy to say I've not been disappointed yet. Both of these stories put me in the holiday spirit in no time flat.
