"A must read contemporary romance"
It is Cindy Wagner's wedding day and she is far from
happy. She realizes that she isn't in love with Paul
and just can't go through with it. As they stand before
the minister Cindy musters up the courage to tell him that
she can't marry him. She makes a dash for the door and
jumps in the waiting limousine. There is only one
man in her heart and it isn't the groom. Knowing that she can't go back home Cindy tells the limo
chauffeur to just drive. Several hours later she sees a
sign saying Elk Valley Dude Ranch, the sign brings
memories flooding back. This would be the best place to go
where no one would find her but, most of all the ranch
belongs to one of Ethan's family members. Ethan Stormwalker saw the limo pull up and a woman wearing
a wedding dress get out, but no groom in tow. As she came
closer he realized who it was. He hadn't seen her in five
years but she was in his thoughts every single day. He had
no idea why she chose to come here but hoped she didn't
stay long. Cindy and Ethan met five years earlier, as teenagers. They
had a budding romance and had fallen in love. But, they
were from two different worlds. Cindy was raised
surrounded by wealth, she had every thing money could
buy. Ethan was a circuit powwow dancer who had grown up on
a reservation. The two had an argument that ended their
relationship. Now, all these years later they come face to face. It is
an awkward situation for both, but the attraction they have
for each other is still there. Over time, the two start to
talk and they reveal their feelings and try and resolve the
past. However, they still have a few obstructions in their
relationship, especially when Paul shows up trying to get
Cindy back. They have to deal with other issues as well.
Ethan is insecure with the fact that he can't provide the
life Cindy is accustomed to. Each of them achieves much personal growth in the story and
realize that they can overcome anything as long as they are
together. Who they have given their heart to is not
controlled by money, color or backround. Cindy would give up
everything she has just to be with the man
she loves. This is a modern day romance sprinkled with Indian lore.
Madeline Baker continues to draw fans into her world of
sinfully handsome heroes and feisty heroines. She has always
been keeper shelf status for me and DUDE RANCH BRIDE
is another example of why.
