"Gripping Romantic Suspense"

Samantha Carroll had a normal life. She grew up with two parents who were devoted to her and to each other. Her father had died two years previously and now she and her mother own a gallery in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, specializing in western art. Then one day two dangerous looking men enter her store and change her life forever. They tell her that her biological father, Paul Merritta, is the Don of a Boston crime family. Her father is dying and wants to see her. She also discovers she has a twin brother, Nick Merritt, she didn't know existed.

Against her mother's wishes she goes to Boston. As she gets off the plane she first sees Nate MacLean the FBI agent who has dedicated his life and career to bringing down the Merritta family. He knows that Paul Merritta's daughter is arriving from the west, and is meeting each incoming plane in hopes of getting to her before her family does. He sees her but doesn't identify her until an attempt is made on her life.

Sam is so confused by her relationship to the Merritta family that she is unsure whether to trust Nate. Nate has been focusing a lot of his attention on Sam's twin Nick, and after meeting Nick, Sam is confused over who to trust. There are more attempts on Sam's life -- and Samantha is not sure which member of the Merritta family is trying to kill her. Both Nick and Nate are conveniently present every time.

Nate's hatred of the crime family has consumed most of his adult life. But he can't seem to stop the attraction he feels for Samantha, that he knows can only lead to trouble. But he is sure he is the only one who can possibly save her from whoever is trying to kill her.

TWISTED SHADOWS is a blockbuster romantic suspense. It starts out fast and never lets down. The plot has more twists and turns than a roller coaster. Nate and Sam are wonderful, believable characters, and all of the secondary characters are well-crafted. Nick Merritt, Sam's twin, is particularly interesting, because for much of the time he is an enigma and his loyalty is unclear. There was great suspense built into the relationships as well -- not only between Samantha and her twin, but also between Nate and Nick. Ms. Potter has done it again! Don't miss this one!

From USA Today bestselling author Patricia Potter comes a riveting novel about a man who thought he'd escaped his unsavory past -- and a woman who didn't know she had one...

Summary

Samantha Carroll's world is turned upside down when the life she always thought was perfect turns out to be a lie. When two cold-eyed men enter her western art gallery, she learns that her biological father is an ailing crime boss who now wants to see her...whether she wants to see him or not. Not only that, she has a twin brother she's never known about.

FBI Special Agent Nathan McLean is convinced that Nicholas Merritta, the son of a crime boss, is laundering money for this father--and McLean has plenty of reasons to take down the entire crime family. What he didn't plan on was falling in love with Nick's twin sister, Samantha.

Nick Merritta is the heir apparent to the crime family, though for years, he's visibly shunned his family's organized crime interests, started a successful business, and tried to outrun his past. He'd believed his mother and sister dead for nearly three decades, but Samantha's unexpected appearance ignites a series of events that threatens to destroy them all.

The past is with you. Always.
