REVIEW

"Engaging story with an unusal but very lovable hero..."

Glory, Alberta

Although they have known each other for years, Phoebe Longquist and Lewis Hardin are from different worlds. When she was ten to his fourteen, Lewis gave Phoebe a crudely carved wooden frog that she has kept for years. Lewis is Glory's proverbial bad boy who spent most of his younger years in jail or breaking out of it. Having kept in touch over the years sporadically, they decide on impulse to get married and don't tell anyone about it.

Phoebe wants to keep the marriage a secret because she's not sure how her parents will react to their daughter's sudden marriage to an ex-convict. Lewis is happy to go along with her wishes because he truly loves her and wants her to be happy. He has also left his nefarious past behind since then and become quite successful in life. Then Lewis learns an earth-shattering secret about his parentage that threatens to destroy his happiness. Can he possibly come to terms with this revelation?

Judith Bowen's A HOME OF HIS OWN is an engaging tale in Harlequin's Men of Glory series. I really enjoyed reading about Phoebe and Lewis and their emotional struggles. Lewis makes for an unusual but very lovable hero who had me rooting for him from the very beginning. The secondary characters are also memorable and certainly add depth to the story while not taking any of the limelight away from the main characters.

As always, Ms. Bowen has presented her fans with an entertaining and warm love story that is sure to delight.
