"Classic Time Travel with a Twist"
A search for a loved one takes refined, contemporary
young women to a place and time she could never imagine
possible. ACROSS A MOONSWEPT MOOR is the long awaited
sequel to Julie Moffett's much loved time travel A DOUBLE-
EDGED BLADE. Two cousins, more like sisters, are reunited
in 17th century Ireland when Fiona arrives to help Faith
and her a ragtag cast of characters rescue Miles. In the
process Fiona learns to love and be loved but will be
enough to keep her in the past when things that love is
threatened? Fiona Chancellor has been searching for her cousin who
disappeared in Northern Ireland while on a mission for the
British Government. With a unique message found on an
antique blade, special only to each cousin, she searches
for answers in antique shops. But not until she meets a
most unusual dealer, not far from the Beaghmmore Stones,
does her life take on an unusual twist of faith. What she
discovers is something she can't comprehend and seeks the
answers in the standing stones. Can this spoiled young
woman slip back in time to help her cousin when she needs
her most? Ian Maclaren, a Scot, has come to help his best friend's
wife, Faith rescue her husband Miles O'Bruaidarn from the
troops of Cromwell, but little did he expect to find a
newcomer in their midst, especially one who is woefully
ignorant in survival skills of that time. Yet, the more he
is with Fiona, he is drawn to her in unexpected ways.
Unfortunately, he will just have to wait to explore them
because he has just a few days to help rescue his best
friend who holds the future of a free Ireland. Faith and Fiona have a wonderful reunion as short lived as
it is. Yet, Fiona with her knowledge of the future is able
to convince Faith she knows where the English have Miles.
Fiona's fear of being trapped in the past is great, but
when they plan to leave her behind, she just won't let that
happen. Of course she has to convince Ian she won't slow
them down by barely being able to convince him or herself
she can ride a horse. Along the way they meet a feral child
who attacks Fiona because she is English. Fiona has had
little interest in children, yet is drawn to the child in a
way she can't take time to fathom. This relation of
adult and child adds much to Ian's attraction toward her.
Unfortunately their detailed plan to break out Miles goes
awry, forcing Fiona to stay behind to ensure their get
away. For Ian who, once Miles is on his way to freedom,
makes a decision that will change his life and those he
loves forever. Will the new Fiona be up to the challenge
she and Ian must face? This is a superbly plotted sequel and fans will enjoy
visiting with Faith and Miles again, but clearly this is
Fiona and Ianės story. The time travel element is nothing
unique, yet the strength of this tale can be found in the
transformation of the heroine, from a modern day pampered
rich young women seeking approval in others when she need
only find it within herself. The reader may not like Fiona
initially, but will quickly see an evolving Fiona through
the eyes of those who have captured her love: Ian and a
motherless child. Fiona becomes a wonderfully transformed
young woman with courage and grace because of love. On the heels of the success of Ms. Moffett's A DOUBLE-EDGED
BLADE, with ACROSS A MOONSWEPT MOOR Moffett fans and new
readers alike are going to fall in love with the delicious
yummy Ian and adorably spoiled Fiona. ACROSS A MOONSWEPT
MOOR shows off Julie Moffett's exceptional talent in making
the time travel believable by providing readers with a
special love sure to transcend time. Classic Time Travel at
its best!!!!!
