"Unpredicable, superb western romance."
Ian Duncan and Faith Taylor were in love and wanted
nothing more than to be married and settle down into a
peaceful existence. But all that lay ahead of them were
barriers that would force them apart. Underneath their
exterior Faith's parents were heartless people, trying to
use
her as a pawn for personal gain. They tried to force her to
marry Randolph Mason, a
wealthy but vile man. In order to avoid her cruel fate she
and Ian disappear into the night. Ian has a special magic with training horses. So the
two head to Iowa where they
can realize their dreams of owning a horse farm. Jenny and
Ian receive a double blessing
as they celebrate the birth of twins. Though they have
struggles and hardships the two
face them head on with all the love that is within their
family fold. Unfortunately, the past cannot always be avoided and has
a harsh way of catching up.
Thirteen years into the twins, Jamie and Jenny's, young
lives, they are faced with the
unspeakable acts that have been done to them and their
parents. The horror of the
situation has lead them to an orphanage where they will
spend the rest of their
childhood. However, after witnessing such a cruel twist of
fate, their childhood
has been left behind and they face the realities as
adults. The orphanage is the not the safe haven that it is
expected to be. They soon
learn that people are not always what they seem, somehow
they will
escape this evil place. In the orphanage they meet a friend,
Chase
the Wind, a half breed Kiowa Indian who will stick with
them. Before
they are able to leave this heinous place Jenny is brutally
taken from the
orphanage. Jamie and Chase try to find her but she is gone
without a
trace. Jamie and Chase take a job on a ranch where a kindly man
has taken them
in. But Jamie is never whole without Jenny and Chase only
dreams of her.
Will they ever reunite and find any happiness that they so
richly deserve? CHASE THE WIND is the debut novel of Cindy Holby. She
takes us on an
incredible journey of love, betrayal, and the will to
survive. The plot is
ultra fresh with unexpected twists and turns. Absolutely
nothing about this
book is predictable. This story is a heartwrencher, be sure
to have some tissue handy!
Ms. Holby is definitely a star on the rise!
