REVIEW

"An Attraction Too Strong To Resist"

TAKING COVER is the second book in Catherine Mann's "Wingmen Warriors" series for Silhouette Intimate Moments. It tells the story of Capt. Tanner "Bronco" Bennett, and Dr. Kathleen O'Connell. Tanner is a co-pilot, waiting for a pilot's slot. But an old back injury is acting up and it may take away his chance to be a pilot, unless he can get the right Flight Surgeon to treat him and get him back on duty quickly. Capt. Kathleen O'Connell is definitely not the Doc that Tanner wants to see, but she is on duty when he returns from his mission.

Kathleen knows that Tanner will give her trouble. He has been trouble since their Air Force Academy days. But she is not going to let him go back in the air until his injury is properly treated. When Tanner's aircraft arrives, Kathleen is waiting on the tarmac with an ambulance. Tanner refuses to go to the hospital, and Kathleen knows that by morning he won't be able to get out of his own bed...and she'll be the Dr. on duty until noon...the Dr. who will have to deal with him then.

Unfortunately, news of the dispute on the tarmac has reached Lt. Col. Dawson, the Squadron Commander. He is not happy with the "morale" problem in his squadron. So, Tanner and Kathleen are assigned to investigate an aircraft accident at Edwards Air Force Base, California. They will have to travel together and work together for the entire assignment. Both Kathleen and Tanner wonder if during all of that togetherness, they can avoid the intense attraction that they felt for each other at the Academy.

TAKING COVER is a great read. Tanner is sexy, kind and has a great sense of humor. Kathleen is strong, but vulnerable. They are both intense, likeable characters who tell the story their own way. Catherine Mann has written another great novel. I will be looking forward to all of her future installments of "Wingmen Warriors".

Not that he has a choice, thanks to by-the-rules Kathleen and his ground duty assignment to investigate a crash. When Kathleen is teamed with him in the investigation, they're both diving for cover as they battle an attraction ready to detonate!
