"A hero who can cook!"
When newly divorced cop Nick Ryder and newly un-engaged
Miranda Chase have a chance meeting at a bar one night,
sparks fly, one thing leads to another and they end up
spending one unforgettable night together. Unfortunately,
wires get crossed, and they do not see each other again,
each believing the other has not cared enough to call. One year later fate once again brings them together. Nick is
filling in for a buddy temporarily as a doorman at Miranda's
apartment building. When they meet again, the moment is
awkward but at the same time, sexually charged. But they
each know that any relationship between them would go
nowhere, so they go there separate ways. But then someone
breaks into her apartment and Miranda needs help discovering
who is trying to steal her company's trade secrets. She
turns to ex-cop Nick as the only man she trusts to do the
job. At least that is what she tells herself - or could it
be that she just doesn't want to let him disappear from her
life again? LIPSTICK ON HIS COLLAR is a fairly action oriented story,
with the love scenes being on the warm, albeit abbreviated
side. For action fans, there is plenty going on with lots of
physicality not of the sensual variety, including chase
scenes, torn clothing, injuries, and danger and betrayal.
Miranda and Nick have some great chemistry together.
Unfortunately Nick has an annoying habit of stereotyping
rich, well dressed women such as Miranda, and placing them
all in the same category as his greedy, social climbing
ex-wife. But then again, he is also a gourmet chef, and who
can resist that? Not me!
