Romantic Suspense Clay Benedict's life is turned upside down just because of
a small favor he promised to do for his cousin, Denise.
The youngest of four sons of the powerful Benedict family,
Clay agrees to check on Denise's friend, Janna Kerr who
happens to be staying in a small cabin on Benedict land, in
the Louisiana bayou. The last thing Clay expects is to be
drugged and held captive by the beautiful Janna! Janna Kerr is a single mom desperate to save the life of
her eight-year old daughter, Lainey. Lainey is suffering
from renal disease and her chances of survival are slim,
unless she can get a kidney transplant. Unfortunately,
there's very little hope of that. It's clear that Janna
will do almost anything a mother could possibly do, to keep
her child alive, even if it means getting a kidney on the
black market. Clay realizes Janna has a secret. The more time he spends
as her prisoner, the more he gets to know mother and
daughter. Lainey, whose eyes stop Clay dead in his
tracks. She has Benedict eyes -- it's like looking into a
mirror. It becomes clear that Janna thinks she's found the
perfect donor for her daughter ... and she's ready to hold
Clay prisoner until he can help save Lainey's life. It's
only when a dead body is discovered in the bayou, that
Janna realizes she may have walked into something very
dangerous! Jennifer Blake's latest release, CLAY is a joy to read and
a wonderful treat for lovers of romantic suspense! From
beginning to end, the story snags the reader's attention,
keeping the pages turning swiftly while simultaneously
sending chills down your spine. Clay, Janna and Lainey are masterfully crafted characters
who will leave lasting impressions on your mind and in your
heart. Clay, an honest and caring man, is a pure delight
to get to know. I found it easy to fall in love with him.
Janna's love for her daughter will tug at any mother's
heartstrings. The relationship and dialogue between Clay
and Lainey was heartwarming and seemed so very real. Packed with fast-paced action and riveting suspense, CLAY
is a story that will have you mesmerized. Fans of Jennifer
Blake's wonderful novels will be glad to know they can look
forward to reading about another Benedict brother - WADE -
in September of 2002. Don't miss out on CLAY -- it's a remarkably gripping novel
you'll definitely fall in love with!
