REVIEW

"Delightful 9 to 5 office romance!"

Karla Jones needs to find another job. Her current boss is leaving the firm and the future of her career doesn't look so secure. During her lunch hour she overhears a group of secretaries from an Electronics firm talking about their new boss, Matt Gramling. Apparently, he's looking for a Personal Assistant but only someone adhering to the 25/50 rule will do. Rumor has it, Matt won't date women over 25 or hire a female employee to work directly for him if she's under 50.

Determined to get the job - which is everything she's ever wanted and certainly very capable of handling - but refusing to be stumped by Mr. 25/50 before she's even met him, Karla comes up with the perfect solution - a disguise! With the aid of some stage make-up and conservative clothing, 'Jeanette' Jones lands the job.

Then fate intervenes quite unexpectedly because just when 'Jeanette' starts to feel happy about her job, 'Karla' happens to run into Matt Gramling at the theater. Matt makes no secret of the fact he'd like to see Karla again and she can't resist the temptation or the attraction. Wouldn't you know it though, after Karla spends a wonderful weekend sightseeing with the gorgeous hunk, Jeanette gets an anonymous blackmail letter at wrok the next day. Someone knows her secret! What are Karla's chances at happiness if Matt finds outs the truth about Jeannette?

Delightful! I've always been a big fan of 9 - 5 romances and Barbara McMahon's latest Harlequin Romance is a wonderfully entertaining one.

The plot is full of unexpected twists and the characters are certainly intriguing. The story pulls the reader in from the first page. Karla makes for a refreshing heroine with a smart head on her shoulders. Matt was simply gorgeous. I'm sure there are plenty of secretaries out there who would 'love' to have a hunk like him for a boss!

THE SECRETARY'S SECRET is a light and delicious office romance I would recommend highly to all my friends.
