"A Sizzlingly Sexy Contemporary"
As Michael Romero sits on his chair at a Tampa, Florida bar
and watches across the room as his best friend, Kyra, gets
dumped by yet another in a long line of jerks, he wonders
why these guys don't know how lucky they are to have the
right to touch her and hold her the way he secretly longs to
do. He reflects on the beginnings of their acquaintance and
how the time was never quite right for them to become
involved with each other. Now it is too late because he is
not willing to risk being the next on that long list of
"ex's" and possibly lose the friendship they have. The
problem is, he is having trouble keeping his hands off her! Meanwhile, oblivious to Michael's thoughts and feelings,
Kyra White decides to follow the advice given in a book she
purchases called Sex Kitten 101. She thinks her old
conservative image may be the problem with her life and
resolves to make some drastic changes, beginning with her
appearance. These changes make differences in her life all
right, but some are very unexpected, such as Michael's
sudden jealousy, and her reaction to his kiss! For the first
time she begins to contemplate the possibility that she and
Michael could have something more between them than just
friendship. SKIN DEEP was a funny, sizzlingly sexy, entertaining read. I
enjoyed the premise of friends becoming lovers. It was fun
to see Kyra's transformation (I don't know how she found the
nerve to wear some of the clothes she wore) and Michael was
a great guy, turning from best friend and emotional crutch
into a lover who was still very protective of Kyra, and
their friendship.
