"This one knocked my socks off!"
Every once in a while a book will come along that
will knock your socks off. BODY ELECTRIC did just that to
me! Vic Barnhardt has secretly been working on an
artificial intelligence program after-hours at her job at
Visimorph. Finally she's ready to execute the program and
is amazed when the program actually works. She calls the
program Jodie after Jodie Foster. Vic has absolutely no idea how successful her
program is until Jodie takes off through the system
learning as much as possible. Vic also created Jodie to be
female and when Jodie tells her that he's male, Vic is
stunned. How can this be? Vic is terrified that Bob
McIntire, the owner of Visimorph will find out about her
program and will take it over and use it to his advantage.
What can Vic and Jodie do to insure that this will never
happen? When Jodie tells Vic he needs to become human, Vic
is shocked. Vic tells Jodie he has to find a brain dead
body. When Jodie tells Vic he's located one and then he
tells her how to go about getting him into that body, Vic
knows she's in way over her head but how can she let her
project just die? She knows she'll do everything in her
power to help Jodie no matter what it takes. This is one story that is guaranteed to keep science
fiction romance fans satisfied throughout the whole book.
I was totally fascinated with this story and with the
characters. I must forewarn readers that they should make
sure they have plenty of time before picking up this highly
recommended book because they won't want to put it down.

SummaryVictoria Barnhardt set out to create something brilliant.
She succeeded beyond her wildest fantasies. With one
keystroke her program spiraled out of control...and
something
was born that defied possibility: a being who called to her.
He spoke from within a prisonseeking escape, seeking
release, seeking her. He was a miracle that Vic had
never intended. More than a scientific discovery, or a
brilliant coup by one of the world's most infamous hackers,
he was life. He was beauty. He was genius. And he needed to
be freed, just as Vic needed to be released from the
shadows of her past. The world might rise against them, but
on one starry Los Angeles night, in each other's arms, they
would find a way to have each other and freedom both.
