"Like mysteries that keep you in suspense till the very end of the book? If so, try DEATH MEDICINE."
If you like who-dun-its, you'll be crazy about DEATH
MEDICINE. In this story, a Congressman is murdered and it
is up to Lassiter (with Willi's help) to find the killer.
Each and every one of the passengers on the train with
Willi and Lassiter have reason to have committed the
murder. But who was it? There are many twists, turns, and
dead ends before the murder's identity is revealed. The two main characters, Willi Gallagher and Quannah
Lassiter, are absolutely determined to fight the attraction
that lives between them. Willi is a schoolteacher
who has way too much curiosity. This curiosity leads her
into sometimes dangerous territory, where Lassiter is honor
bound to rescue her. The interactions between
these two folks reminded me of some of the old classic
movies starring Tracy and Hepburn. Kat's characterizations of the secondary members of the
story were flawless. Three of these secondaries are the
live-in staff of the bed and breakfast where the passengers
are forced to stay when the weather worsens drastically.
What a hoot! Sam, Odessa and Jasper are simply fantastic
and help keep Lassiter on his toes. While there are no
recipes in this book, the descriptions of the food
prepared by Sam, the cook, sound mouth watering. Kat Goldring is a new author to me. I'm really happy that
I've been given the chance to read this story. With each
revelation, each sharing of a secret, it became
increasingly hard for me to find the killer. I'm happy to
say that I correctly identified the murderer--but it took
me almost to the end of the book to do so. DEATH MEDICINE
kept me in supsense and totally enthralled from the first
paragraph. DEATH MEDICINE is Willi and Lassiter's second
book and because I enjoyed it, I'm out looking for their
first book (All Signs Point to Murder).
