"A bubbly mix of contemporary fantasy"
Maddie Winston has hit a low point in her life. First her
fiancée married another woman while "relaxing" in the
French countryside, and then a forged memo leads to a
temporary cessation of production that puts her entire
company in jeopardy. Then, while visiting her grandmother's
bed-and-breakfast, a dirty bottle washes ashore at her
feet. Lured by the thought that the bottle may be valuable,
she scrubs at it. She is unprepared for the smoke that
exits, leaving in its wake a tall, handsome and
imposing ...genie? Genies always conjure up thoughts of hot sultry nights and,
of course, wishes. I DREAM OF YOU's cartoonish blue cover
marks it as brightly contemporary. The book itself it a
bubbly mix of both. Maddie gets unlimited wishes
(especially useful in her situation) and a solution to her
troubles -- if she can figure out how to make it all work by
the rules! This book has very little sex and no actual
intercourse, and a low level of sexual tension, but the
relationship between Ben, the genie, and Maddie is
completely engrossing. The wonderful cast of secondary
characters only enhances the novel. I DREAM OF YOU is a
wonderful story that any reader of paranormal romance is
likely to enjoy.
