"Two madcap comedies with a serving of green eggs and ham!"
JUST DESSERTS by Jennifer Drew is a hilarious
romp with a pastry chef and a reporter. Jeff Wilcox will
do anything to get a story even though it inadvertently
involves getting Sara Madison fired from her job as pastry
chef at a local restaurant. He felt so bad he had the food
critic at the paper find her another job at a swanky resort
but then he finds out that there's a huge story just
waiting to be told involving a scam artist and aliens. Will
he get Sara fired yet again and why can't he just get her
out of his mind? GREEN EGGS & SAM by Susan Peterson not only
made me laugh uproariously but the ending made me reach for
my box of tissues! Haley Jo Simpson knows her boss Dr.
Rocca is a sleaze ball but she wants to be a dental
hygienist so badly that she agrees to go to the conference
with him thinking maybe she could just avoid him. She is
astounded when Dr. Rocca ends up dead in her hotel room in
his thong! How will she explain this one? When Sheriff
Sam Matthews has to take her into protective custody, he
just knows this mouthy, flashy woman is going to get him
into big time trouble but what is a guy to do? Then
there's his daughter Prudence who changes her name every
five minutes and thinks Haley Jo is just too cool. The cast
of characters in this book just had me howling and I musn't
forget Razor Beak, the dog! Every month I say these are the best stories I've
read yet and every month they just get funnier and more
outrageous! These two stories are just the thing to put a
wide grin on your face! I look forward to more stories
from each of these authors!
