"Rich in emotional intensity and cleverly plotted!"
London 1815 Having lived his whole life under the stigma of being born
a bastard, Marsden Griffith Knighton is determined to prove
his legitimacy when he receives a letter from the Earl of
Swanlea, a distant cousin. The missive states the Earl is
ready to provide Griff with proof of his parents' marriage
if Griff agrees to marry one of the Earl's spinster
daughters. This proof would also enable him to become heir
to Swan Park, the Earl's estate. Determined to get his
hands on the proof but not gullible enough to fall for the
Earl's devious scheme, Griff convinces his man of affairs,
David Brennan, to switch places with him for the duration
of the trip. On his first night at the estate, Griff is
caught red handed by Lady Rosalind. Known as the Swanlea spinsters, the Earl's daughters are
fretful about their future once the Earl dies, however,
they aren't looking forward to meeting the supposedly
disreputable Mr. Knighton. Lady Rosalind has managed the
estate since her father became too ill to do it himself.
Independent, willful and beautifully bold, she is not at
all pleased with the Earl's plans to have Knighton, a man
of questionable character and background, marry one of her
sisters. Her suspicions seem to prove true when she comes
across Knighton's man of affairs rummaging through the
Earl's desk. The scoundrel! Arming herself with a sword
and shield from a wall nearby, she charges in to confront
the devious thief ? only to be confronted with an
unexplained desire for the Shakespeare quoting blackguard! As always, Sabrina Jeffries delivers exceptional
entertainment in the form of her latest novel, A DANGEROUS
LOVE. Whenever I pick up a Sabrina Jeffries novel, I know
it will be packed with assured narratives, fast moving
plots and plenty of deft characterizations. The same is
true for A DANGEROUS LOVE. I found this novel rich in emotional intensity, cleverly
plotted and genuinely amusing also. Well penned and packed
with rich historical flavor, A DANGEROUS LOVE promises
great delight and entertainment from the very beginning. Ms. Jeffries' wonderful style of writing is deftly sexy and
extremely convincing. Brimming with colorful and vividly
drawn characters that charm and captivate, the tale held my
attention right to the very end. In fact, I didn't want
the story to end! The character of Rosalind was simply
wonderful. So vivacious and daring, independent and yet so
endearingly feminine, she made an enchanting heroine for a
man like Griff. So well suited too! The dialogue was true and fitting to both the setting and
the characters. It was made more interesting with the
constant sparring between Rosalind and Griff and all the
Shakespearean quotes being thrown back and forth, which
enlivened and enriched the story too. Sabrina Jeffries is a bewitching storyteller. If you love
historical romances, A DANGEROUS LOVE is one book you
simply must read.

SummaryHe was playing a dangerous masquerade...
Griff Knighton's found the perfect way to avoid being
trapped into marriage with one of the Earl of Swanlea's
daughters: he'll swap identities with his man of affairs
during their next visit to Swan Park, and be free to pursue
his own desires! After all, he's not about to marry some
homely spinster just to claim his rightful title. But Griff
didn't reckon on the brazen, voluptuous Rosalind, who could
tempt even a saint into sinning--and Griff is no saint.
She was determined to unmask him...
Rosalind wants no part of the plan to marry her off to her
father's wealthy heir--and his man of affairs is even more
intolerable! The arrogant man clearly doesn't know his
place, but the sparks that fly whenever they're together
make her wish he's no mere servant. There's something
slightly dangerous--and a little mysterious--about this
man...
Does she dare to risk her heart to a man whose secrets
could destroy that love?
