"A truly terrific Harlequin Romance"
Her father could never forgive her for being born, for in
the process of giving birth, her mother, the only woman
Abner Lambert ever cared for, died. Rena Lambert grew up
knowing her father could just barely tolerate her but that
never stopped her from trying to find some way to garner
his approval. All hope of winning his love dies a forlorn
death once and for all when Abner coldly announces he has
arranged for Rena to marry their neighbor, Ford Harlow. Harlow wants a piece of the Lambert ranch. Abner agrees to
his proposal only if Ford will take Rena as his wife also.
When Rena refuses to fall in with Abner's plans, he
announces his plans to will the ranch over to his foreman
rather than leave it to Rena, his only heir. Numb with
shock that her father could play with her life so cruelly,
Rena decides it's time to move away, but before she leaves,
she visits Ford to let him know she won't marry him. The
last thing she expects is for Ford to stand up for her
rights, offer his support and quietly fold her into his
protective arms, giving her the care, attention and
affection she has craved all her life. Just when life seems to be getting better, Rena learns the
secret Abner Lambert kept hidden from her all these years... I read this book in one sitting. Once I started, I
couldn't stop until I turned the last page. It's 'that'
good. Storyteller extraordinaire, Susan Fox wins the
hearts of her readers once again with her latest release,
MARRIAGE ON DEMAND. This is without a doubt a truly
terrific romance which, in my opinion, is a sure winner. Ms. Fox has a unique talent to create heart warming
characters that climb into your heart the moment they
arrive on the scene. Ford Harlow is so easy to love. His
quiet, macho, reliable aura spins a web of security and
love for shy, insecure, hungry-for-love Rena. Rena's fears
of trading in one tyrant for another are unfounded
once she experiences Ford's silent acceptance and his
respect for her wishes and her opinion. There's just
something so special about these two. It was a pleasure to
watch their love story unfold so beautifully. When it comes to creating soft, vulnerable heroines and
strong alpha heroes, Ms. Fox has perfected the technique
down to a fine art. If you enjoy stories with sexy,
powerful heroes, shy, gentle heroines and plenty of
sizzling attraction to boot, MARRIAGE ON DEMAND is a must
read!
