REVIEW

"Wonderful Character-driven contemporary romance"

Widower Matt Erickson -- and his three children -- needed a nanny. His requirements: someone steady, staid, and reliable. Instead, he got Alix St. Germain. She was the exactly what he didn't want -- or so he thought! His great plan to make her run backfired, though, leaving him married to the nanny!

Alix was a drifter -- she had been for years, but she knew she could never desert Matt and his children. When he offered her all her dreams on a platter, she jumped for it, not knowing that secrets from her past were about to be revealed.

Outrageous is your typical contemporary romance novel. Matt is a modern male, Alix a spunky modern heroine. They deal with modern issues that affect the children and themselves. The plot and dialogue were okay, but nothing remarkable. The characterization, however, was wonderful.

Alix and Matt were distinct entities, people you would almost expect to meet on the street someday. Their relationship developed slowly enough to be believable, and the interactions with the children and Matt's family were very enjoyable. Overall, a good read -- definitely one to look into if you like contemporary romances.

Summary

The new nanny is everything Matt Erickson doesn't want for his three children. Interested only in child care, he feels the woman is too young, too eccentric, much too attractive— and worst of all, likely to take off and leave his children hurt and confused once more. Wanting stability for his kids, Matt challenges her by making a overly generous offer for a long term commitment.

Like armor, Alix St. Germain's outrageous clothing and attitude have seen her through the tough times. She has been an outsider most of her life, and hides from her past behind a cocky facade. Affronted that the widowed father thinks her too irresponsible to care for his family, she calls his bluff, and accepts his offer.

Just as she finally begins to believe that love might actually exist, her past walks in the door
