"This is a funny one!"
At 35 years old, Kathryn "Kitty" Lamb is ready to
settle down. She sees her younger sister happily married
with a young child and pregnant with her second. She
decides to try a dating service that specializes in perfect
matches. When she arrives at Six in the City, she meets
Walker "Bear" Hart. There is instant electrical attraction
but he's off limits. Bear is only filling in for his mother who is off on
her honeymoon with her sixth or is that seventh husband.
Bear has seen what marriage is all about with his mother
and he wants no part of it, thank you very much! The problem is Bear subconsciously sabotages all of
Kathryn dates or so it would seem. Kitty can't believe
that every man that Bear picks for her is a dud. What is
up with that? Then when Bear asks Kitty if he can stay
with her in her apartment because his mother's penthouse is
leaking and the ceiling is in imminent danger of falling
down, Kitty knows it's a mistake but she agrees. Turns out
it IS a big mistake! This book was so much fun to read. It is a comedy
of errors from beginning to end with Bear and Kitty
fighting their attraction for each other and then trying to
find the person of their dreams. They just don't see the
forest for the trees, so to speak! The men that Kitty ends
up with all have their hang-ups and I especially enjoyed
the way Kitty interacted with them all. All in all a great
read!

SummaryHigh school drama teacher Kathryn Lamb, at the insistence
of a pushy neighbor, enrolls with Six and the City, a
dating service that guarantees her five fix-ups with
eligible bachelors, all of whom are ostensibly interested
in commitment. But from the second she meets Walker "Bear"
Hart, the hunky manager of the matchmaking service, sparks
fly and sexual tension crackles. The problem is that
Kathryn has come to Six in the City to find a husband.
Bear has never seen a happy marriage in his life. His
mother, the oft-married actual owner of Six in the City,
keeps fixing herself up with her own clients and jetting
off on honeymoons. And Bear finds nothing more depressing
than matching up desperate singles. But his attraction to
Kathryn makes him begin to question his firm conviction to
remain a bachelor forever. And it's his job to find her
five other possible husbands. Keeping his jealousy in check
is nearly impossible.
Bear matches Kathryn up with an assortment of eligibles: a
bad boy rock 'n' roller, an undercover narcotics detective,
a Very Famous Actor, a high school English teacher, and an
airline pilot. Any time things go dizzily wrong, guess
who's there to rescue her?
