"The Night Watchman's got you in his sights..."
The Night Watchman's next victim knows she's in danger but
can she avoid her fate? Psychic Lucinda Sloan is famous for assisting the
police in their search for serial killers. Her
international reputation, though, may well be Sloan's
undoing since she is about to be tested by an adversary
who
may well be her match. After 35 years behind bars, a killer dubbed the Night
Watchman is on the prowl again. Having heard of Sloan's
purported skills the clever psychopath has decided to
engage her in a battle of wits which will ultimately lure
the comely psychic to her death. To capture her attention, the Night Watchman begins with
someone Sloan knows. The murders then continue in cities
across the country as the Watchman sets up the final
scenario in a place where his adversary believes is
totally
safe. The Watchman always leaves an engraved wristwatch on his
victim with the date of the murder plus the longitude and
latitude clearly marked on the timepiece. As time runs out
for Sloan she must use not only her special powers but he
intelligence to out maneuver this deadly killer. Even when the climatic scene finally arrives the outcome
will be left in partial doubt thus keeping the door open
for another sequel to this chilling thriller. As Wendy Corsi Staub ramps up the tension and adds
unpredictable twists, the reader realizes about midway
through this 473 page novel that it is going to be totally
impossible to set aside in the home stretch. So be
forewarned; eventually you'll reach the point where you'll
be losing sleep and leaving household chores undone until
you reach the story's shattering conclusion.
