"A great second book to the Shannon Sisters trilogy!"
This is the second book in C. J. Carmichaels
Shannon Sister's Trilogy. It's every bit as good as the
first book was. The story of Kelly Shannon starts out with
Kelly reliving over and over again in her nightmares the
fact that she killed Danny Mizzoni. She believes it's the
worst thing about being a cop. Now Kelly is obsessed with Danny's family,
specifically his two children, Billy, 5 and Amanda, 3.
Sharon, Danny's widow has started drinking and smoking
again and she's not taking care of the children. This gives
Kelly more nightmares and she constantly worries about the
children. Mick, Danny's older brother does what he can but as
he's unmarried, there's not a lot he can do unless he
married Sharon and this idea doesn't appeal in the least.
It does get him to thinking though. Maybe if he does marry
a nurturing woman, she'll help him take care of his
brother's wife and children. Mick and Kelly come up with a
plan to marry and help Sharon with the children. Will this
plan work or will it backfire right in their faces? Not only did I thoroughly enjoy reading Kelly's
story but I especially liked visiting characters from the
previous book. One of the most interesting moments in this
book is that I finally got to find out who Poppy was and
how she fit into the series. I highly recommend this
series.

SummaryShe was doing her duty. Now he'll do his...
While investigating a local murder, Kelly Shannon, an
officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is forced
to kill in the line of duty. Afterward she feels the
terrible responsibility of having taken a human life.
Especially in this case, where she's killed the father of
two young children.
Because the children's mother falls apart after her
husband's death, his brother, Mick Mizzoni, steps in. But
juggling the demands of his job with the needs of a three-
year-old and a five-year-old is difficult.
Kelly feels that the only way she can cope with her guilt
is by helping these children. So she makes Mick an
offer...an offer he can't refuse.
The real problems begin when Kelly starts falling in love
with Mick.
