"Suburban Bliss Gone Awry!"

Meet Love Welsh, Marie Passetti, Gayle Beck and Janie Kirk, four rich, suburban housewives, each of whom is trying "to stifle the growing discontentment with her life that is verging on intolerable." They are married to successful husbands, good at the charitable works they manage but are riddled with doubt, jealousy and all looking for something to revitalize their world.

This is the world of Hunting Ridge, a neighborhood that all thought would be the epitome of the good life. But Love is riddled with pain tied into a psychological secret about her father that will painfully emerge. Marie is a successful attorney bored with her husband and very attracted to the hunk of an intern who appears at her office one fine day. Gayle is living on pills to avoid the rising panic in her life and the compassionate overtures of her cook and house assistant. And Janie satisfies her cravings by indulging in whatever infidelity titillates her sense of constant boredom and dissatisfaction.

It seems like this would be a droll story but Four Wives is far from just a dysfunctional tale of four focused wives whose lives begin to go awry. There's plenty of humor and unexpected twists and turns to keep the reader rapidly turning the pages and a resolution for each woman that is potently real and memorable.

Authenticity comes at a price, and these four wives pay for sure but win a most satisfying bonus at the end of this unique, incisive novel!

Very nicely done, Ms. Walker!
