"An entertaining romance"
Meggie Sherbrooke has waited for this moment for over 6
years. Dressed in her finest she is attending her first
London ball and will be reunited with her only true love
Jeremy Stanton-Greville. Well, that is how Meggie sees it
but Jeremy sees her as his cousin and is betrothed to
another. With her heart broken she marries the first man
that comes along. Earl Thomas Malcombe the earl of Lancaster, truly cares for
Meggie and wants to make her happy so he agrees to marry
her and takes her to his home in Ireland. Thomas has been
hurt in the past and doesn't know if he can make his bride
forget Jeremy. At Thomas' castle Pendragon, Meggie has to deal with a
difficult mother in law and an attempt on her life. Will
Thomas and Meggie find the killer before it's too late?
Will they trust each other enough to fall in love? I have to say that I am not a fan of most historical
romance but I love Coulter's contemporaries so I gave this
a chance. For the most part I enjoyed the story but felt
lost at times. I knew that this was the fifth book in the
series but I expected this story to stand more on it's own.
Some of the family traditions were pretty weird. For those of you that have followed the saga from the
beginning, I know you will enjoy this latest edition. I
have to say that I am looking forward to reading the other
books in the series. Now I know why I always read books in
sequence. Helena L Beasley
