REVIEW

"The second installment of the life of Kate Conner, demon hunter!"

As much as I enjoyed CARPE DEMON, I knew I just had to know just how Kate Crow Conner has been dealing with balancing coming out of retirement from her demon hunting days along with two children, a husband about to be thrust into the public eye and now an adopted supposedly father in law. Kate just told a little white lie about Eddie. She just didn't think Stuart would like a complete stranger into their home. Still Eddie is an ex-demon hunter with no other place to go so what was Kate to do. Besides, Allie and Timmy love him for all his crustiness.

In CARPE DEMON, Kate had to clean a nest of demons out of the resident nursing home and that's how she came to meet Eddie. Now it seems the demons have taken up residence at the high school but why? Kate only knows she has to keep her precious fourteen year old Allie safe. Luckily for some reason David Long, the chemistry teacher at the high school wants to help Kate. The problem Kate has with that is that her demon hunting work is strictly on the QT so why does David seem so familiar?

It's getting harder and harder for Kate to keep her extracurricular activities a secret from her husband and her daughter. It helps that she has Eddie and her best friend Laura to talk to about what's going on. Can she get rid of the demons before they get rid of her though?

The second installment of the life of Kate Conner, demon hunter is as enjoyable as the first. Julie Kenner does a wonderful job of hooking her readers and then reeling them in all the while knowing that they will impatiently wait for the next installment of this fascinating series!

Summary

Welcome to San Diablo. The perfect place to raise a couple of kids. And a lot of Hell.

What's a mother to do, when there are only so many hours in the day, and the fate of the world is in her hands?

Kate Connor was a retired demon hunter. Now, after fourteen years busting her tail as a suburban housewife, raising two kids, and supporting her husband's political ambitions, she's rejoined the workforce—and except for a few minions of evil, no one has a clue. She tries hard to keep her home and work lives separate—a good idea when your job involves random slaughter.

Between fending off demon attacks, trying to figure out why the mysterious new teacher at the high school seems so strangely familiar, and keeping a watchful eye on her daughter's growing infatuation with a surfer dude, Kate is the busiest—and most dangerous—soccer mom on the block...
