"Strong Women Warriors!"
Would the ability to know what has happened, almost like
an empath with extra sensory perception, help stop crime?
Help one to find the criminal? This plot line, paralleling
several TV crime series in one way and the fourth in a
seven book miniseries, has a unique twist as depicted by
Carol Stephenson. What Eve St. Giles is picking up could
consume her to the point of oblivion. She's got the gift
common to those called Marians but doesn't up to now
really understand it. What's it got to do with history and
the Roman Catholic Church, in particular the Knights
Templar? All of this and so much more are very gradually revealed
after Eve begins to investigate a Swiss disease, like the
killer Spanish plague, that kills not only her sister but
amazingly only females. What's the point of this senseless
and horrific crime that causes the worst possible
suffering and death? It turns out that these Marians are
the intended target, and Eve will need help to unearth the
mysterious and lethal plot that threatens all of innocent
Europe. However, Eve can't do this alone and who of all people
will she have to allow to help her? Her old lover, Nick
Petter. They make a cute couple, even with all their
bickering and playfulness. But each will through this
process find a deeper love and connection than just
physical passion, sweet though that is as well. History comes alive in this never dull, never simple, and
far too quickly finished and relished mystery drama! Reviewed by Viviane Crystal on November 17, 2006
