"A sexy suspenseful read"

Chase Bracken is an FBI agent who gets results, even if sometimes the means are a bit messy. Unfortunately, his superiors don't see his rule bending in such a kindly light, and he has been told to track down Jared Romaine - a rogue FBI agent who has eluded them for years. Jared's one weakness: his sister.

Dee Romaine has spent years looking over her shoulder and worrying about her brother, while FBI agents watched her every move, waiting for Jared to make the one move that would slip him up and allow them to catch him.

Chase is determined to capture Jared and save his career. Dee is the key to Jared, he's certain, and he sets out to infiltrate himself into her life and gain her trust. Posing as a coach at the local high school, he tries to get close to Dee. Of course, along the way, he starts to question his deception. Will Dee be able to trust him again when she discovers that he has betrayed her trust?

This was a fun read. Not phenomenal, but a good solid addition to the BLAZE line. The characters especially endeared themselves to me, and I will be running to the bookstore come April to get Jared's story, which continues with his quest to prove his innocence. In the end, both Dee and Chase must make important choices about the direction of their lives. I guess the only problem I really had was with the motivation behind a decision Chase makes later in the book - a motivation which I felt wasn't fully explored and explained. The plot setup is excellent, and looks to continue into Jared's book for a resolution, and I absolutely loved the characters - especially Jared.

Summary

Special Agent Chase Bracken was known to bend the rules. He's been assigned to bring down a dirty agent...with the help of the suspect's sister, Dr. Destiny Romine. When Chase finally meets the gorgeous doctor, he realizes this case isn't going to be like all the others. For one thing, his body reacts in ways it shouldn't. But Chase is determined to get his man...even if it means sleeping with the enemy....
