REVIEW

"A Cozy Mystery!"

This cozy mystery captured the flavor of Charleston, South Carolina beautifully. I felt as if I were strolling through the heart of Charleston while reading this book. I could picture the quaint mansions, the church spires and the Battery in my mind as I read.

Theodosia Browning owns the Indigo Tea Shop located right on Church Street. She and her staff are invited to cater the Charleston Yacht Club's race held on Charleston's Battery. Oliver Dixon, one of Charleston's bluebloods has been picked to sound the gun to signal the end of the race. As he fires the gun, it explodes, killing him instantly. It is deemed an accident but is it really? As Theodosia and her staff ponder this question, Theodosia decides to do a little snooping of her own. What she does is keep turning up suspects. Now all she has to do is whittle down the list. It's turning out to be harder than she thought it would be.

This book was a delightful mystery to read from the beginning to the climactic end. It hooked me right at the start and held my attention throughout the entire book. The recipes at the end were just icing on the cake. I was thoroughly caught up in the storyline and look forward to reading more of Laura Childs' mysteries.
