REVIEW

"Fantastic historical western!"

Lark Renault was a model citizen of Ida Grove. She held a trust worthy position in the town bank and was liked by all. To anyone who knew her she was exactly who she appeared to be. But, unbeknownst to any of the townspeople, she had a less than stellar past. At one time she was known as "Wild Red" and a member of the notorious Reno gang. Lark was an impressionable teenager at the time and followed in the footsteps of her cousins. She was caught by the law and spent five years in prison. Now, all she wanted to do was live a normal ,honest and peaceful existence. However, one man from her past has come back and wants to destroy the person she has become.

Ex bounty hunter, Ross Santana was ill prepared when Lark is brought to him for protection. Ross had misgivings since he reconized Lark from an old "Wanted"poster and was involved with bringing the Reno gang to justice. He is a firm believer in upholding the law and their is no room in his life for criminals, even rehabilitated ones.

However, as the two are thrown together, Ross soon realizes that people can change and sometimes their circumstances force their actions. Lark is learning to trust Ross and finds that underneath the strict code of ethics is a man worth loving.

When danger threatens Lark's life, Ross finds he will lay his life on the line, not out of duty, but out of the love for this woman.

WANTED! was a superior historical western. Fast paced, realistic characters and a very well put together story put this at the top of the genre. Pam Crooks has been a long time favorite and WANTED! was no exception.
