REVIEW

"Awesome!"

Firefighter Max Caldwell's worst nightmare has come true. His brother-in-law has been murdered and his sister Emily severely wounded. She is now in the hospital giving birth to their child. When Max gets there, Emily makes him promise that he will take her son away and not let her in- laws get their hands on him. Emily has found out too late that her husband's family members are not nice people.

Max kidnaps his newborn nephew in a gym bag, with Emily's permission, but her father-in- law's goons follow him out of the hospital. He knows he has to get away and quickly. The problem is he gets into an accident on the way home and gets pinned in between two cars. Laura Dalton witnesses the accident but is more worried about the wailing infant she hears. All Max is worried about is getting away so he talks Laura into giving him a ride to his house.

Laura realizes something is very wrong. Max is very uncomfortable with the infant and he seems to be in a great big hurry about something. She works for a day care so she is quite attuned to children and their needs. She knows that she won't leave the infant until she is sure he is safe.

This is just the beginning of a thrilling read that doesn't let up even in the end. Laura can't begin to try to trust Max even though she is drawn to him. There was just enough suspense and just enough romance in this terrific book! I highly recommend this one!
