"Great historical romance with another hot Mountie!"
Diana Campbell had no intention of participating in the
games at the Harvest Fair. But, seeing Inspector Mitch
Reid of the Mounted Police perched on the dunking booth
was enough for Diana. She wanted to wipe the smug look
off his face. With, a good throwing arm and five cents she
does just that. However, the prize is the Mountie, for
the next 24 hours Mitch's services belong to her. Mitch thinks Diana will use his services as an escort for
the upcoming dance. But, he soon finds she is different
than any other woman he has known. She takes Mitch to her
factory job and he is soon plucking chickens. Diana is a
hard worker with the sole responsibility of supporting
her younger brothers and sisters. Diana feels an attraction to Mitch but, thinks that
nothing will come of it. After all, she is practically
destitute, and lives far differently than most of the
young women in town. Her days are not filled with clothes,
parties, and courting. Plus, Mitch has a reputation with
the ladies and she has no desire to be another conquest. Their time together make them both take notice on a
deeper level. Mitch realizes that Diana is different and
he can't let go of his attraction to her. While, Diana
realizes that underneath that charming, sexy facade
is a tortured soul racked with guilt. But, when Diana's
brothers are implicated in a murder she doesn't know if
Mitch is friend or foe. THE BACHELOR is and engrossing read, one that will make
you laugh and cry. Kate Bridges continues to write
Canadian Mounties that will take your breath away. Her
heroes and heroines always capture the readers heart with
their human flaws. Ms. Bridges continues to be at
top of her game.
