REVIEW

"This one deserves a Standing Ovation!"

SOMETHING WILD is a delightful tale of the unlikely attraction and courtship between an aspiring Las Vegas showgirl and a Wyoming cowboy who just happens to moonlight on Sundays as a minister.

Charity Wilde and Mike Flynn first met at Charity's brother Max's wedding in Ms. Berg's BORN TO BE WILD. They noticed each other then, but things don't really begin to sizzle until they meet again at a family get-together held at the Remington Ranch in Wyoming. That's when Charity gets it into her head to rescue a wild Mustang stallion from Mike, who is determined to capture and tame the beast. When an attraction develops between them, they don't know how to handle it. Charity is not willing to give up her dream of performing in Las Vegas, and Mike has not yet come to terms with the guilt he feels over the death of his wife. Any kind of a lasting relationship between them seems impossible, and a short fling is just not an option. Is there any way these two can get together and remain that way? The odds are against it.

SOMETHING WILD is Ms. Berg's second spin-off of her popular title, WIFE FOR A DAY. It contains the same sense of fun, and was very enjoyable to read. There is an underlying sadness with Mike over the death of his wife that adds depth to the story, and Charity did need to experience a self-realization before she would be able to understand what she really wanted out of life. I didn't want to see either one of them have to compromise their dreams, and I thought Ms. Berg solved their dilemma quite satisfactorily. Ms. Berg, you deserve a standing ovation for this one!
