"Not to be missed anthology! Werewolves and Vampires, oh my!"
This anthology is classic MaryJanice Davidson. She is
fast becoming one of those authors that I don't dare read
in public for fear that those men in the white coats will
haul me away to the rubber room for laughing until the
tears roll. The first story Santa Claws is about Alec Kilcurt,
the most powerful werewolf in Europe who has come Boston
to pay homage to Michael Wyndham's new daughter aka The
Wonderful Child. All Alec wants to do is get back to his
home in Scotland On the way back to his hotel, he
distinctly smells peaches and it drives him wild. He has
to find out who it is. Giselle Smith is on the street
corner dressed as Santa ringing a bell for charity. She
can't believe when this gorgeous hunk comes up to her and
not only asks her out but puts $8,000 in her bucket. Is
this guy for real? In Monster Love the second story we meet Janet Lupo
who hates her pack, her life and everything it entails.
Richard Wills is a vampire who loves what he has become.
When they meet, the sparks fly and neither is sure they
really want that to happen so will they kill each other or
love each other to death? That remains to be seen. There's No Such Thing As A Werewolf pits blind
werewolf Dr. Drake Dragon with fey Crescent Moon who only
wants to fly but doesn't know why. Drake only knows he
can 'see' Crescent and wants to spend time with her but
Crescent isn't sure she wants any part of Drake. Sure,
she's attracted to him but is that enough? In the story A Fiend In Need we finally get George
the fiend's story. First we find out that Antonia has
forced a vision, one that tells her that she must help the
Queen and envisions an address so off she goes. When she
gets to Betsy Taylor's lair, she is in for the surprise of
her life when she sees Garrett Shea there who is otherwise
known as George the Fiend. Antonia may not be able to
change but she can make herself useful and Boy is George
hot and hot for her. This anthology was such a joy to read. Unfortunately I
read it in a matter of hours. I simply could not bring
myself to read these stories slowly. I thoroughly enjoyed
each and every story and urge those who love MaryJanice
Davidson's stories as much as I do to read this book as
soon as possible!
