"Not to be missed!"
Captain Chasidah Bergren was court-martialed for a crime
she didn't commit and sent to Moabar, hellacious prison
planet from which there was no escape. While she is there
a Takan guard attacks her and she has to kill him. She
hopes she isn't found out but then she is rescued by
Gabriel Sullivan, a blast from her past whom she though
was dead. Sully not only saves Chaz but he also helps her escape but
there is one condition. She must help him as well. Chaz
agrees to help. After all what more can she do? She just
doesn't have any idea what she is getting herself into. Sully tells her that even though the jukor experiment was
supposed to be terminated, it somehow wasn't and their
mission was to find the jukor lab and shut it down. Chaz
agrees but with stipulations, of course. There are a lot of things that have to be set up and put
into place before they are ready to do what needs to be
done. Chaz can't believe the varied and sundry group that
Sully has for a crew. There's even a blind Stolorth who
is Sully's best friend. Chaz had been taught never to
trust Stolorths. After all they were soul-stealers. There's also something very strange about Sully. Chaz just
can't quite put her fingers on it but she knows something
is off somehow. Still she and Sully are as attracted as
they ever were. Will they fight the attraction or give in
to it? I'm so ecstatic that I've discovered Linnea Sinclair's
books. Her books are outstanding and her imagination mind-
boggling! I get immersed in her world and get quite
grumpy when I get distracted or torn away! I eagerly look
forward to reading more of her books!

SummaryAfter a decade of cruising interstellar patrol ships,
former Captain
Chasidah Bergren, onetime Pride of the Sixth Fleet, finds
herself
court-martialed for a crime she didn't commit-and shipped
off to a remote
prison planet from which no one ever escapes. But when she
kills a brutal
guard in an act of self-defense, someone even more
dangerous emerges from
the shadows.
Gabriel Sullivan-alpha mercenary, smuggler, and rogue-is
supposed to be
dead. Yet now this seductive ghost from Chaz's past is
offering her a ticket
to freedom-for a price. Someone in the Empire is secretly
breeding jukors:
vicious and uncontrollable killing machines that have long
been outlawed.
Gabriel needs Chaz to help him stop the practice before it
decimates
imperial space. For Chaz, it's a matter of survival. For
Sully it means
facing the truth about who-and what-he really is. The
mission means putting
their lives on the line-but the tensions that heat up
between them may be
the riskiest part of all. For both of them, it's a life-
and-death battle
where giving up the ghost just took on a whole new
meaning..
