THE HIDDEN YEARS opens inauspiciously enough, with Jake Cochran and Cassidy Atkins meeting once again. Cassidy's father had disapproved of her association with Jake, and she had not seen him since leaving for college. They meet again when Cassidy finds a box in her father's office after his death, which contains documents pertaining to the whereabouts of his two sisters. After the deaths of their parents, the three were split up, and Jake has been searching for them since.

Cassidy leaves in a huff after an arguement, accidentally taking with her a piece of paper with a telephone number printed on it. After calling the number, a man breaks into her house and attacks her, demanding to know who she works for. Jake rescues her, and then they make a run for it.

Cassidy and Jake must discover who they are running from and what their pursuers want -- and to do that they must uncover the secrets of the past...

Kearney delivers a fast paced roller coaster ride of a book in this first installment of the HIDE AND SEEK trilogy. Cassidy and Jake are well rounded, and their relationship is well developed despite the non stop pace of the book. An excellent read that will keep you on your toes!
