Kitty Goes to Washington

REVIEW

"A sneak peak at the private life of a werewolf dj!"

Kitty Norville is a late night DJ for a local station and a werewolf. The latter really doesn't come into play much until Kitty is bored one night and poses a simple question after reading one of the grocery store rags. The question, "Has anyone ever seen Rat Boy?" With that question, Kitty's show becomes a hit late night advice show for the supernaturally disadvantaged.

With fame comes some drawbacks. The local vampire leader hires a hit man to kill Kitty. Her own pack leader, Carl, refuses to let her continue the show unless she pays him half of her salary. The hit man, Cormac, is talked out of killing Kitty and they form an uneasy friendship of sorts.

Kitty who has always been the "baby" of her pack is now forced into fights that move her up in the pack. Bringing her to the attention of Alpha female of the pack. A "Deep Throat" calls her and gives her information regarding the governments position on the supernatural. In return she answers some questions he has. As her show takes on a life of it's own, Kittys life is spinning out of control. Sometimes the trade offs aren't fair.

This is an interesting take on the inside workings of a werewolf pack and some of the problems they face. Ms. Vaughn has a winner with this one and I will be interested where she takes Kitty next.
