"by turns a funny and touching time travel"
Gwen Cassidy is on vacation in Scotland, looking for a
little romance, when she wanders away from her tour group
and falls through a hole into a cave. When the dust clears
she realizes she has landed on a very handsome, very
unconscious man. Who is he and how could he have gotten
here?
Highland Laird Drustan MacKeltar has been placed under a
powerful spell that has lasted five hundred years. He wakes
to find a beautiful woman lying on top of him. It doesn't
take him long to realize that it is crucial that he returns
to his own time to save his family from whoever was
responsible for placing the spell on him. In order to
accomplish this he must use the magic spells passed down
from his Druid ancestors and he must bring the woman with
him as she is the key he needs to work the spell.
Gwen decides to play along with this poor demented man
until she can find his family and turn him over to them.
Unfortunately for her, the spell really works and sends
them both back to Drustan's time! Even worse, something has
gone wrong and he doesn't even remember waking up in the
future and worse still, he doesn't even remember her! It
becomes a race against time for Gwen to convince Drustan
that she isn't crazy, and to save him and his family from
whoever wishes them ill.
KISS OF THE HIGHLANDER is by turns funny and touching. The
humor is witty and smart, just the way I like it. Drustan
is everything a hero should be, strong and intelligent with
deep feelings for his heroine. Gwen is brilliant but
vulnerable. The sex scenes are warm, tender and
titillating. I really enjoy the creativity of Ms. Moning's
endings to her time travels, and this one is no exception.
I strongly recommend you give this one as well as all of
Ms. Moning's HIGHLANDER
books a try.
