"Potential Suspects!"
Anne Johnson is divorced, has plenty of money, lives in a
luxurious apartment, loves to be alone, and desires
nothing more than an occasional luxurious luncheon and
some very good sex! Sometimes she ponders doing something useful for society
but is hardly driven by that meandering thought. Instead
what begins to disturb her mightily is a whispering voice
announcing her very own death in thirty days! Fearing she is losing her mind, she decides to monitor
those around her, which includes her ex-husband who's a
bit of a disturbed guy to start with, a Russian neighbor
whose handsome beauty arouses her raging hormones, and a
cleaning lady. It is her ex-husband and the cleaning lady
who
will help her solve the mystery! This novel is funny in that it really focuses more on
Anne's thoughts about herself and those in her world with
all their foibles and flaws. Refusing to do what everyone
else wants her to do, Anne spends her time helping others
sort out their lives and finally decides to plan a party
on the very day she is supposed to die! Here is where the mystery picks up and flies at a page-
turning, adrenalin-pumping pace! Not much of a mystery, it's a good romp through the world
of Washington's rich culture and those humans who, after
all is said and done, are just like every reader who will
roar at Anne Johnson and root every step of the way for
her to solve her very own mystery! Reviewed by Viviane Crystal on November 22, 2005

SummaryA murder will occur in thirty days. It's up to
Anne Johnson to prevent it...
Free-spirited and freshly divorced, fifty-year-old Anne
Johnson is living the good life. With plenty of money to
keep her comfortable, she spends her nights in her
luxurious, elegant apartment in Washington, D.C., cuddled up
beside the fireplace with a good book in one hand and a
perfect martini in the other.
Then, from nowhere, Anne hears a voice in her head, warning
that there will be a murder in her building in thirty
daysand that only she can stop it. Without a clue
about what to do, she confides in Mary, the building's
large-and-in-charge cleaning womanand together, they
plan a party to ferret out the would-be killer before time
runs out.
As they make preparations, Anne makes a list of potential
suspects, which unfortunately includes the gorgeous Russian
neighbor she can't stop lusting after. But as much fun as
Anne and Mary are having, the clock keeps tickingand
if they don't act quickly, the swanky soiree might end up a
goodbye partyfor them...
