"A terrifying convoluted tale of murder"
Once again Dr. Kay Scarpetta is on the case. We have a
cast that peaks the readers interest and keeps them
guessing.
Scarpetta is freelancing with the National Forensic
Academy in Florida when she is face with one of the more
bizarre cases she has ever faced.
Her team of Pete Marino, Benton Wesley and her niece Lucy
are all involved in this one. An she will need all of them
to solve this case.
Four people have disappeared from their home. An elderly
woman who complained of harassment by a citrus canker
inspector has been viciously murdered in her bed.
A psychopath safely behind bars and the subject of a
classified scientific study teases Scarpetta with tips on
the murders. Facts that don't seem to fit together at all
and cases that seem unrelated are coming together and
making a scary picture of murder.

SummaryDr. Kay Scarpetta, now freelancing with the National
Forensic Academy in Florida, takes charge of a case that
stretches from steamy Florida to snowboundBoston, one as
unnerving as any she has ever faced. The teasing
psychological clues lead Scarpetta and her team-Pete
Marino, Benton Wesley, and Lucy Farinelli-to suspect that
they are hunting someone with a cunning and malevolent
mind whose secrets have kept them in the shadows, until
now. Predator is proof once again that Patricia Cornwell
has few peers with her extraordinary ability to entertain
and enthrall.
