"The Betrayals of Passion!"
"What madness had bedeviled her, causing her to act with
such haste?" Years have passed since the passionate love
shared by Darius of Faucon and Marguerite, now Lady of
Thornson. Surviving a lost love and bowing to historical
necessity, Marguerite has married and learned to love
Henry, Lord of Thornson. Darius has had a less peaceful
journey and is still trying to prove his loyalty to his
lord. Now he discovers with Henry's death, it will be
Darius' mission to protect the Lady of Thornson until an
appropriate husband with the right allegiance to King
Stephen and Queen Maud. It sounds like a simple story but in reality it's a far
cry from that, since Darius and Marguerite both recognize
the renewal of their fiery passion but have secrets that
each protects with fierce determination. That focus causes
innumerable scenes of misunderstanding, mistrust, and
accusations that threaten any possibility of fulfillment
of their love! Falcon's Love is even better than Denise Lynn's Falcon's
Honor, complex in its adult world of conflict between
Kings and loyal servants, responsibilities that could be
the extension or undoing of kingdoms, and years of forged
unions and relationships that must take precedence over
youthful, passionate feelings! What and who will prevail? The tensions mount and disaster seems to be looming for
both central characters! Other characters are plotting as well but for the opposing
King David. Smuggling and battles, attempted escapes,
truth, and lies abound in a tense, driven plot that never
lags and rivets the reader to fly through this exciting,
romantic tale! Great read! Reviewed by Viviane Crystal on October 29, 2005
