REVIEW

"Edge of your seat romantic suspense"

Moving home to her father's ranch still didn't bring peace of mind to Chicago ADA,Olivia Kincaid. She was used to getting violent criminals off the street but, when a physical attack nearly killed her it affected her psychologically, as well. To make matters worse her father, a retired judge, was opening his ranch for a prison work release program.

Hank Elliot is part of the program and is able to freely roam around the ranch. He is finishing up his sentence for a crime he says he did not commit. As Olivia slowly gets to know him she sees a decent and caring man underneath his exterior. She is torn with her feelings as Olivia's long time convictions brings her doubts. She has always felt that these men wouldn't be in this predicament if they were innocent.

Their fragile relationshp turns to one of love. Hank's feelings are torn because he knows that when he is released he will always be a convicted felon and will not have anything to offer Olivia.

Olivia is soon put to a test as to how deep her feelings really are when he is a suspect in a local woman's murder. How far will she go to help Hank and have they built enough trust in their relationship that Olivia believes he is innocent?

CONVICTIONS is a fantastic, fast paced read. Maureen McKade has done a superior job in providing twists and turns that keep you on edge, until the end. A true romantic suspense with a blend of contemporary western will appeal to readers of all genres. Don't miss this one!

Summary

Chicago ADA Olivia Kincaid was dedicated to getting violent criminals off the streets—until a brutal assault nearly took her life. Now, with her world shattered, she retreats to her father's Colorado ranch, hoping to reclaim some lost piece of herself.

Even here she can't feel safe, though—because her father has created a work-release program that allows convicted felons to roam freely about the ranch. But when one of the men arouses a desire she thought was long dead, her deepest convictions are turned upside down. Six years ago, Hank Elliot was imprisoned for a crime he says he didn't commit. Olivia has heard countless criminals claim their innocence. Still, something about the proud, determined man makes her want to believe him.

But when a local woman is found murdered and suspicion falls on Hank, not even Olivia is sure whether the man who's broken through her defenses is a cold-blooded killer.
