"Another fascinating tale in the Night Warriors series"
Erin König and her family have been on the move her entire
life. She is the one foretold in ancient prophecies to
upset the balance between the Warriors and the Beasts. She
holds untold power that good and evil hope to use to their
benefit. Having been attacked by the Elder Lorian as a
young girl, her family can only protect her by never
staying in one place too long. Her brother, Hunter, takes
her protection personally, since he was the reason she was
almost taken by the Beasts years ago. The first part of the book focuses on Hunter. It is time
to take his role as Lord of the Crossbearer clan, which
means his wandering days are at an end. He has always
enjoyed his family's "gypsy" lifestyle and is none too
eager to settle down. When he meets Sarah, he knows his
life is about to change. She is a powerful human
sensitive, with the gift of seeing auras, and Lorian wants
her power. Hunter must protect her from danger and finds
something he never expected from this quarter... love. Can
he convince Sarah that she is his one and only mate? Can
they defeat Lorian before it is too late? The concluding half of this story focuses on Erin. She
grows weary of the constant attempts to win her by every
eligible Warrior out there. Also, as long as Lorian, the
last Elder is alive, she will be hunted. Her life has
always been a struggle, too protected to take much
enjoyment out of life and she does not want to bring a
child in to this world to be cursed to the same fate.
Therefore, Erin refuses to take a mate, figuring that is
the only way she'll ever have some control over her life.
Besides, Curt Maher, the only man she's ever cared for,
has no desire to be mated, preferring his carefree ways.
Can the two of them find a way to make fate work for them?
And what about Lorian... will Erin ever truly be free of
him? Ms. Lyons once again writes a strong story with incredible
personality. Her characters jump out of the pages at the
readers, making themselves a part of one's life for the
time it takes to read the story. Erin has experienced a
lot in her young life and it has tempered her persona and
inner strength in many ways. She loves her family and
their duties, but she longs for things to be a little
more "normal" sometimes. Her brother, Hunter, has also
gone through much in his life, though it has affected him
differently. He loves their wandering lifestyle and has a
hard time adjusting to settling in to one place. The mates
that they each find must be strong in their own
individuality to be a match for the wills of the two König
siblings. The connections between characters, good or
evil, are compelling and one will feel the emotions and
the reasons for their beliefs and feelings. The drive
behind their actions cannot help but be felt and
understood. The world created in the novels of Brenna Lyons is amazing
in its depth. This author is a master at world building
and will make readers feel as if they are right in the
thick of things. The settings are described in vivid
detail, and the story never strays from the rules followed
in these societies. This reviewer especially loved the
colorful descriptions used to describe the auras seen by
Sarah. She felt like she was seeing it all, along with
Sarah. Each book is richer in detail and brings the Beasts
and the Warriors to greater depths. The plot is clearly drawn from page one and follows along
a logical path through both entwined tales to their
climactic endings. Action is never ending and the battles
between the Warriors and Beasts are explosive. Be
forewarned, this book will keep one reading long into the
night, unable to wait to find out what will happen next.
König Cursebreakers by Brenna Lyons is sure to entice.
After reading this story, it is guaranteed one will want
to rush over to the computer and purchase more books in
the series. © Kelley A. Hartsell, June 2005. All rights reserved.

SummaryBeing the König princess isn't much fun. Every Warrior
wants you as mate, and the last elder will do anything to
possess you. But, Erin isn't content to submit to the
stone. For Erin, autonomy means freedom not to mate. If
she can avoid Curt Maher, she can make her plan work.
Curt has waited eight years for Erin to come to him. He's
played by her rules for far too long. He will have Erin as
mate, even if he has to conquer her in battle to get her.
Little does he know that Erin wants to be conquered.
