"Historical and romantic suspense rolled into one!"

Ever since her mother passed away, when she was a young girl, Briana McBride's life was never the same. Her father,step mother and step sister treated her like she didn't exsist. When they did acknowledge Briana's presence it was only to criticize and ridicule her.She became more unhappy when she found out her father had hired someone to run the family ranch. Briana worked hard on the ranch and wanted the job herself.

Nicholas McMurtry lives with a guilt ridden past. In order for him to appease his tortured soul he drinks to forget. But, he also needs work as he has a young son to care for.

Nick and Briana don't hit it off and have preconceived notions about one another. Brianna especially is opposed to Nick's drinking and thinks him nothing more than a drunk.

However, when suspicious activity threatens Briana's life, Nick vows to protect her and find out who is tring to cause her harm. Briana finally begins to realize what kind of man Nick really is inside and trys to bring out his former self.

As their feelings take on a new meaning, Nick finds that he can overcome his past and learn to love again, while Briana learns that she is a special person and deserves to be loved.

Tammy Boulds does a wonderful job of blending a historical setting with romantic suspense elements. In BRIANA,Ms. Boulds continues to write vivid characters with human flaws.I always find new and refreshing reads from this talented author.
