"The second book in the Last Chance series!"
Dee Davis always hooks me right from the start. To show
how riveting her books are, I started this one while
waiting at my daughter's high school to get her schedule
fixed. We were sitting in a hallway full of jabbering
teens and I tuned all the noise out once I started this
book. This is Payton's story. We first meet Payton in
ENDGAME. He has lots of guilt and secrets. Now he's being
teamed up with bomb specialist, Samantha Waters. It seems
there's somebody with a penchant for blowing up buildings,
people, things and now it's up to Sam and Payton to figure
out who, what and when. Then they see a correlation between what and who
is being blown up and it all points to clues dealing with
Sam. Now the question is can Sam, Payton and the Last
Chance team figure out the clues before more people get
hurt? We, as readers, know who the villain is right from
the start but we don't know why he's targeting Sam. We
also don't know what the clues mean. Even Sam doesn't know
at first but she's horrified once she starts putting the
puzzle together until the final confrontation. I thoroughly enjoyed this suspenseful novel and
eagerly look forward to reading the last book of the
series, EXPOSURE.
