REVIEW

"A deeply moving story"

The wealthy Heath Raven secluded himself away from the world for years because he felt responsible for the death of his son. However, one night in his home with one woman who seduced him produced a pregnancy Heath couldn't deny. Heath stood by Eva throughout the entire pregnancy, but was shocked when she showed up on his doorstep with their baby for sale. $10,000. Heath paid the money and had Eva sign a paper. Then he hired one very persistent P.I.

Cassie Miranda was one of the best in her business, but she had a lot of emotional baggage left from her years of jumping from one foster home to another. When her boss was unable to take Heath Raven's job, it fell to her. Once she saw her new assignment, she knew it would mean trouble. And when she looked into his baby, Daniel's, eyes, she turned to mush. Before she knew what was happening, she was agreeing to be the baby's temporary nanny.

Together, Heath and Cassie discover each other's secrets and hope that Eva won't change her mind. The rest of the story takes a few unexpected twists and turns that will keep readers interested in this couple's interesting lives.

This story has a touch of gothic romance in it with a modern day twist. The hero, though hurting, is still strong enough to handle the determined Cassie Miranda. He's not really brooding, rather he's discovering life for a second time through the eyes of this interesting heroine. Cassie plays the role of woman in baby love so right. You can just imagine what she's feeling every time she interacts with Daniel. The fact that his father is good-looking and treats her with respect only makes it that much harder for her to deal with her inner emotions. I enjoyed this evenly paced read and am sure other readers looking for something a bit different and thoroughly entertaining will share this reviewer's assessment. Bravo, Ms. Crosby for a well-written story!
