REVIEW

"Kate Conner is having a very bad day!"

Boy, I've had some bad days before but nothing like poor Kate Conner when a demon crashes into her kitchen window and tries to kill her. She thought her demon hunting days were long over now that she has a 14 year old daughter, a two year old son and a husband who is about to run for County Attorney. Dealing with a teen-ager and a toddler is about all she has the strength to handle these days.

Now Kate needs to know why the demons are trying to take over San Diablo, a sleepy little suburban town where Kate and her first husband Eric retired to when they decided to quit demon hunting. When Eric died, she was devastated but she met Stuart and fell in love all over again. All she's supposed to worry about now is potty training, last minute dinner parties and a daughter who is nearly grown, right?

She calls Father Corletti, her mentor at the Vatican who tells her since the demons have sought her out, she needs to deal with it. He has no more hunters to send to help. It seems demon hunting just isn't like it used to be. He will send her an alimentatore though who would help her figure out just where those demons were. She can't believe when she finds out that her alimentatore is none other than Judge Larson.

In between car-pools, shopping for groceries, shopping at the mall and just trying to live a normal live, now Kate has to find time to bone up on her demon hunting skills, try to discover what it is the demons are looking for and hunt for newly arrived demons. Piece of cake, right?

This book was so much fun to read. I really felt for poor Kate and her wild schedule. She really needed more hours in her already jam-packed day. I've heard that there is a sequel to this book and I know I will be one of the first ones in line to get my greedy hands on it! I highly recommend this exceedingly entertaining read! I've got my fingers crossed that this one will reach the movie stage as well!!!

Summary

Carpools. Crabgrass. Creatures from the depths of hell. Suburbia has its problems too...

Lots of women put their careers aside once the kids come along. Kate Connor, for instance, hasn't hunted a demon in ages...

That must be why she missed the one wandering through the pet food aisle of the San Diablo Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, he managed to catch her attention an hour later-when he crashed into the Connor house, intent on killing her.

Now Kate has to clean up the mess in her kitchen, dispose of a dead demon, and pull together a dinner party that will get her husband elected to County Attorney-all without arousing her family's suspicion. Worse yet, it seems the dead demon didn't come alone. He was accompanied by a High Demon named Goramesh who, for some unknown reason, intends to kill off the entire population of San Diablo.

It's time for Kate Connor to go back to work.
