"A fantastic, fast-paced journey in the jungle!"
Dr. Jane Miller is a virus hunter. When she receives a
package from her father, who lives in the Amazon, that
contains a deadly virus he has isolated because he is
infected she is prompted to find a cure. She does and she
takes off for the Yura tribe with whom her father has been
living and working. She connects up with Mac, a fellow
virus hunter, from a different research company than the
one Jane works for. From the start of their journey,
there is nothing but one challenge after the other. First, their plane crashes in the Amazon. Jane and Mac
immediately have reason to believe it was sabotaged.
Together, Jane and Mac hike through the jungle carrying
what they hope is a cure to the Amazon Strain Virus.
Every step of the way, they are hunted by another virus
hunter who worked and slept with Jane. He's out to stop
her and Mac, that much is clear to them. It's the why
that has Jane puzzled. And for awhile, both Jane and Mac
don't exactly trust each other with secret information. But, love has a funny way of making people work together
in impossible conditions and try to stay alive and achieve
their goal -- to save Jane's father and the Yura tribe. This book was a joy to read because there was action on
every page! It's so suspenseful because you're never
quite sure if Jane and Mac will live through the natural
trials of the jungle, nevermind having a team of armed men
hunting them down every step of the way. The sensual
tension between Jane and Mac is strong. And I haven't
read about a heroine as determined and up to unbelievable
physical demands and survival techniques in a long time.
As for Mac, he's the jungle's version of Indiana Jones. A
definite read for those who thrive on action-adventure!
