"A TOUCH OF MAGIC"

Lord Anthony Hartsone, 3rd Earl of Pentargon has gone to the isle of Abandon with the intention of getting it ready to be sold. He is selling the Island to an important member of Parliament, in trade for the PM sponsoring legislation to do away with child labor. The PM has insisted no one must know of the deal, so when Tony is confronted by Morwenna Halliwell begging him not to sell it he lets her think he is getting rid of Abandon because his brother died there.

Morwenna has 'powers' and the people of the Island treat her with great care--although all agree she is a good witch. Anthony is guided in his romance with Morwenna by a mysterious book that appears from time to time to him and then disappears.

Hunter deals with the islanders, a sorcerer and the romance with her usual deft touch of humor. While not as laugh-out- loud funny as Indiscretion--the gentle humor here and the dialogue between Tony and Morwenna is often very witty and they are a well-matched pair.

Anthony is a man of great honor who never expected to be an Earl and Morwenna is determined to carry on the work of her father, a medieval scholar. The touches of magic are fun and never interfere with the love story at the heart of this fun book.

Summary

The English island called Abandon, enshrouded in ancient legend, has been home to warriors as well as enchanting women—and none more spellbinding than lovely Morwenna Halliwell. Determined to fight when Abandon is offered to the highest bidder, Morwenna confronts the enemy: the Earl of Pentargon, Anthony Hartstone—or "Lord Heart-of-Stone" as she indignantly calls him. Yet little does Morwenna realize she will soon be forced to marry the forbidding lord who holds her future in his strong hands.

Anthony arrogantly dismisses Morwenna and her litany of complaints against him—all the while drawn to her beauty and courage. But when danger confronts Morwenna, Anthony knows he must call upon all his power to protect the innocent miss he desires. It is up to him to unmask the villain who threatens her, and also to convince his bride that he is not her opponent—but her most passionate and devoted admirer.
